2020 RAV4 XLE Premium Package: What Does It Come With?

The Rav4 XLE Premium Package is the best entry trim for the 2020 gas Rav4 if you are looking to have leather seats, driving seat memory, bigger touch screen, and nicer alloy wheels.

The Rav4 XLE Premium Package is gas-powered and comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower and 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle comes with a 5-year or the first 100,000km powertrain warranty as well as a 3-year or the first 60,000km basic warranty when purchased in Canada.

The front comes with a bold-looking grille in matte-finishing and the Toyota badge. The composite front bumper is quite durable and will protect from scratches and dings. The LED headlights and halogen fog lights are well-positioned with composite material protecting them from damage. All-in-all, the finishing gives a very upscale look to the front of the car.

Along the side, the composite molding continues all around the bottom of the car, covering nicely the wheel compartment. The Rav4 XLE Premium comes with 19” alloy wheels, the biggest size available on this vehicle.

The front doors are smart-key enabled, which means without taking your key out from your pocket, you can get in and out of the car. Back and rear windows are all factor-tinted.

The car comes with color-matching mirrors on the sides with left-right turn indicator lights. They are manually collapsible which is great for tight parking spots.  The mirrors are heated when the rear window defrosts are enabled. Their’s blind-spot monitor alert on each side to help you avoid collisions with oncoming vehicles.

Although the Rav4 XLE Premium uses a single exhaust system, there’s dual exhaust coming out of the back to add to the look. Above the rear window is a third brake light so it will be hard for other cars to miss it when you stop.

The tailgate is powered and can be opened by pressing the button near the backplate, inside the car beneath the steering wheel, as well as holding a key on your keyfob.  The back bumper is also made of composite material and is durable enough to not get damaged when the tailgate is accidentally opened.

Optionally, you can add Blackout Badges to the Rav4’s exterior for an additional $162. With this, you get the Rav4 text, Toyota logo,  and AWD logos in a black emblem.

Inside the cargo area, there is a 12-volt power port and a  retractable cargo cover and some small storage space to the side. The flooring is carpeted but can be flipped over for a plastic finish. There’s also a spare tire with more storage space just underneath the cargo floorboard. The back seats can be folded down entirely flat without removing the headrest to get additional cargo space!

In terms of the back seat area, you can fit 3 adults with a lot of legroom comfortable. The seats with Softex leather covering can be reclined 2-3 inches and the middle armrest with cupholders can be folded down for more comfort. The backseat passengers have access to a storage pocket on the back of the right front seat, a clothes hanger, as well as air vent and power ports for smartphones that are located on the back of the middle console.

The driver seat is powered with both memory and lumbar support. There are a number of controls right on the steering wheel for the information center, sound system, voice control, dynamic cruise control.

The Rav4 XLE Premium Package upgrades the touch screen from 7” to 8” with nicer, glossier finishing to the frame. It’s now compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The sound system is upgraded with 10 speakers JBL audio as well as XM satellite radio. Beneath the touch screen, you get really nice traction dials for controlling the temperature on each side of the car and heated seat control.

To the left side of the steering wheel, there are buttons for features such as auto high beams on/off, front window defrost, heated steering wheel, and power liftgate control. There’s another USB port and a 12-volt port in the small compartment just underneath.

More controls are available for the braking system. There’s a choice of eco, sports, or normal mode to tune the transmission between economy vs performance; and for different driving conditions such as snow, mud, and sand.

Just above the driver are the controls for the sunroof and storage for sunglasses. A standard day/night mirror comes with this model. Sun-blocking visors include a lighted mirror and can be extended to block the sun from different angles.
